[New Monster] Thelg

When Chalk turned the corner of the ancient tomb he saw Koram fighting off a trio of strange creatures. The wizard could hear the teeth of the monsters clacking and gnashing.

“What have you gotten yourself into this time?” he asked the fighter.

“Would you just help me?” Koram asked. The fighter leaped forward and stabbed one of the giant bugs with his Crystal Sword. The thing let out a hideous cry and its flailing tentacles dropped to the ground as the creature went limp. The other two monsters recoiled for a moment, but could not escape Chalk’s spell, which melded the two monsters together, causing the resulting entity to limp off awkwardly.

Hunting in desolate wastelands and abandoned ruins for food, the Thelg are strange insect-like creatures about the size of a war dog that look like a giant flea with an evil octopus head. Six flailing tentacles lash out at prey and a mouth full of vicious teeth is always ready to tear into its prey. Semi-intelligent, the Thelg are organized hunters, moving in small packs to pick off adventurers and other prey. These creatures can leap up to 25′. If two or more tentacles hit a victim that person is being constricted by the monster and is -2 to hit and takes 1d4 damage per successive round. Each tentacle will be severed if it is damaged for 4 or more hit points.
